Here are the best of the travel, France and francophile magazines.

1. France Magazine

This bi-monthly magazine on France, based in the U.K., can always be counted on to make one ache for France. Each month, the magazine features in-depth destination pieces sprinkled heavily with lush photos. There is also a wide variety of features focusing on the cuisine and life in France. A delightful read issue after issue.

2. France Today

This magazine just underwent a wonderful redesign, and is much improved for looks. The content has always been stellar. For the die-hard francophile, this magazine is a must. Not only does it feature destination pieces, but there are numerous articles on French culture and life in France that take this to a deeper level than most.

3. France Magazine

This magazine is published by the French-American Cultural Foundation, based in the French Embassy in Washington. Although it only comesout quarterly, each issue is robust with articles on travel and French culture. The magazine also features monthly profiles of France's hottest restaurants, as well as a calendar of French events in the U.S.

4. Travel + Leisure

This is the quintessential travel magazine. While it covers the whole world and is a general travel magazine, there are frequent features and blurbs on France (Paris and the Cote d'Azur, usually).

5. Budget Travel Magazine

With the euro being what it is, any magazine that provides tips on saving cash is a must. The magazine also has frequent features and tips on France travel.
