Guide Review - Hotel Britannique Review
Location, location, location. Although there are many pluses to a stay at the Hotel Britannique, non supercede its prime situation in the center of Paris. It is a short walk to several of Paris' prime attractions and neighborhoods.
The downstairs features a lovely sitting room, with wi-fi Internet access available for a fee. There is also a comfortable dining area where a hearty breakfast is served each morning. The complimentary umbrellas in the lobby are a nice touch (especially in this city, where a rainstorm can strike at any moment).
This hotel has seen its share of history. This was once central to several popular nightclubs, and several famous jazz musicians have stayed here.
This three-star hotel isn't as fancy as some of its Parisian counterparts, but it is finely-appointed for a hotel of this category. Although the room linens show a little age, the rich burgundy and gold colors emit that very French joie de vivre.
The only downside to this hotel is the diminutive size of the standard rooms and the elevator. You'll never haul a family and a bunch of luggage in one trip up the lift. Still, there are hotels in Paris with bigger rooms, but you'll pay a lot more. There are hotels with big elevators and valets to assist you with your luggage, but many are soulless chains.
This is the ideal hotel for a couple staying in Paris on a budget. With a small number of bags and less need for a large room, a couple can take advantage of the location to explore Paris on foot.
