You don't have to visit Normandy to attend 60th anniversary D-Day ceremonies. Locations around the globe are honoring this fateful day in military history.

Here is a listing of some of the world's major D-Day events:
- The D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Va. is holding commemoration events as part of its "Freedom Week" leading up to June 6th.
- National World War II Memorial Dedication in Washington, D.C. is scheduled to run across Memorial Day weekend, May 27-30.
- A Parade Salute to WWII Veterans will also be held in Washington, D.C.
- D-Day Week at the Imperial War Museum in Huxford, U.K. will feature a reenactment of the 101st Airborne Division and a fly-by with an AWAC aircraft.
- D-Day Closing Ceremony and "True Glory" screening at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, Australia.
- The National D-Day Museum 60th Anniversary Commemoration Weekend in New Orleans will include a living history encampment, rock climbing, a wine and war evening, a sunrise ceremony and firepower demonstrations.
- D-Day 60th Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony in Los Angeles will be a collaborative effort involving the American Legion, French Consulate of Los Angeles and Port of Los Angeles.
- Opening of the Churchill Statue for the 60th Anniversary in Toronto will debut the refurbished statue, complete with a commemorative ceremony at Queen's Park.
