This great jazz festival, now in its 19th year, takes over the city of Reims in the second half of November. It's a mix of well known names and some you might not have heard of but who, hopefully, will be the great jazz musicians of the future. Die-hard jazz fans flock to three major venues: the Opera, the centre culturel Saint-Exupéry, and the salle Louise at the Champagne house of Pommery which is a particularly wonderful setting. Alongside the major jazz concerts, you'll find jam sessions in many bars and restaurants in the city. Expect to hear the likes of Marck-Richard Mirand trio (France); Jean-Baptiste Berger quartet (France), Hasse Poulsen We are all americans (France/Denmark) and Mauro Gargano Mo'Avast Band (France/Belgique/Italie/Cuba) and the great Archie Shepp.
