The busy port of Granville in Normandy gets even livelier in September when the annual Shellfish Festival takes over on the last weekend, September 29th and 30th. From 10am to 7pm, the port will be full of stands selling shellfish against the background of fishing boats bobbing in the blue seas. It's the chance for lovers of fish and seafood to indulge their passion and at the end of the day there are plenty of restaurants in the resort serving more fish.

Granville, on the western side of the beautiful Cherbourg Peninsular, is known as a lively seaside resort and busy port. Granville has some wonderful traditional fishing vessels that became racing vessels during the 19th-century regattas with other nearby ports.

Granville is also the town where Christian Dior spent his childhood and the house is now a museum with some great exhibitions.
