Many of the spectacles of summer have come and gone, but here's one that goes on until October 10th. At the beautiful Unesco site of the Chateau de Chambord right in the heart of the Loire Valley, the romantically named Stables of the Marshal of Saxe are putting on a spectacular show daily. It's a marvelous evocation of a past era with riders and stuntmen, all dressed up as Knights riding through fire and smoke as they tell the story of the Chateau. It's all ripping good yarn stuff and will have you spellbound.

  • Time: September and October Monday to Friday 11:45am, Saturday and Sunday 11:45am and 4:30pm.
  • Cost: Adult 12 euros, child up to 14 years 9 euros; family of 2 adults and 3 children is 10 euros per adult and 8 euros per child.
