Tour de France 2007 - Pau to Castelsarrasin

Thursday July 26, 2007
Pau on the Tour de France 2007The Tour de France begins today in a classic tour city, Pau, which is hosting its 61st stage of the Tour de France. The city's location in the heart of the Pyrenees Mountains, coupled with the fact it is a small urban oasis, make it an ideal stopover. Only Paris has seen more stages. King Henry IV was born in Pau Chateau.

Castelsarrasin on the Tour de France 2007The day's racing will end in Castelsarrasin, which has a blessed location midway between the Mediterranean and Atlantic (but not too far from either). The city features many waterways, as well as a chateau and abbey.
