Tour de France 2006 Stage 5 - Beauvais to Caen

Today's route begins in lovely Beauvais, which features the unique Cathedrale Saint Pierre and its pre-Gothic Carolingian architecture. It also features a fascinating astrological clock, and the town has a stunning Renaissance chateau. The day's racing ends at the beautiful port city of Caen, is close to the English channel. It features abbeys, a chateau and ramparts.

Tom Boonen will keep his yellow jersey, placing second in the stage about a bike length's distance behind Freire.
