Today's Tour de France route takes rides from Esch-sur-Alzette in Luxembourg to Valkenburg, Holland, a unique town featuring a network of about 150 miles of caves. This includes the fascinating underground Christmas market, and which can be toured on foot or by tourist train.
Have you noticed the Tour de France spending a lot of time outside of France? This year's tour actually crosses into Germany, Luxembourg, Holland and Spain. See the 2006 Tour de France Route and Stage map. This is just evidence of how centrally-located France is to other European destinations. Find out how to take advantage by visiting France's border regions.
Alert reader Martin also brought something very cool for Tour de France fans (who can't be there) to track the race. See the position of cyclists with the fun Tour de France Live Tracker.
