Carnival of France, Travel and Francophiles #10
Expat art - IVY Paris is organizing a fascinating art exhibit featuring the work of expats in Paris. "Artists from Turkey, Chili, Japan, Argentina, the United States, France, Benin, Scotland, Finland, Mexico, Canada, Australia and England – 25 in all – will take over La Chapelle Saint-Louis de la Pitié-Salpêtrière for a single day spectacular on May 4th," the IVY Paris blog states about the expat art exhibit.
Tasty testicles - Yes, you read it right. Only the French could make testicles appealing as a cuisine. Apparently, a pink candy called Coucougnettes (slang for testicles) won an award at the ultimate competition in candy making, according to the Why Travel to France blog. Among the ingredients? Nuts, bien sur.
Vegging out - Even if you are a hardcore meat and junk food addict, France can covert you into a vegetable lover. This country's wonderful produce markets bursting with colors. A Day in France blog talks about the experience of indulging in French vegetables.
May Day - France really starts getting interesting in May. This is a busy month, and a great one for visiting. The Cannes Film Festival draws celebrities, and mothers can celebrate a second Mother's Day here.
French DaVinci Code Locations - With all the hype around the debut of The DaVinci Code (which incidentally will premier at Cannes Film Festival), tourists in France have a special interest in the many French settings used in the book. FrenchDuck blog runs through all the real DaVinci Code locations mentioned in the book.
