Tour de France 2005 Daily Blog - Stage Thirteen
Friday July 15, 2005
Today, the racers start at Miramar, a beautiful medieval Provençal village with ramparts and a castle. The day ends in Montpellier, an incredible and bustling city and the capital of France's lush Languedoc Region. The city's expansive Place de la Comédie is always abuzz, and features an outdoor market, a historic opera house and numerous lively cafés. The city's medical school dates back to the Middle Ages, and gives the city a youthful tone. There have been 25 Tour de France finishes in Montpellier since 1930.
