Tour de France 2005 Daily Blog - Stage Ten

Tuesday July 12, 2005
What a glorious city to host today's Tour de France start! It commences in Grenoble, queen of the French Alps. It is no rookie when it comes to hosting major sporting events, having served as home to the 1968 winter Olympics and an amazing 38 other Tour de France starts. Grenoble is a prime destination for skiers, mountain bikers and lovers of water sports. Speaking of skiing and mountain-biking, the ending stopover of Courchevel is in the epicenter of the world's largest skiiing area.
