Paris Snubs Olympics

Paris won't even make a bid for the 2016 Olympics, according to an Associated Press story on SLAM! Sports. Having just lost its 2012 bid to London, Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe said the city won't even try for 2016. Paris has bid and been rejected three times in recent years. Paris officials have alleged that London used inappropriate tactics to get the big, including allegations Pime Minister Blair invited Olympic officials to his hotel room right before the vote and offering them free plane tickets. The Paris mayor said he will support a South American or African city for the next bid.
