Tour de France 2005 Daily Blog - Stage One

Saturday July 2, 2005
The race begins today! It commences in lovely Fromentine, a beach village best known for its delectable oysters. It also features the largest woods in the area. It is a prime destination for active travelers, with opportunities to hike, bike and ride horseback. The day's ride ends in Noirmoutier en l’ile, a small island town with more than 20 miles of sandy beachfront. This laid-back destination harkens to the peace and serenity of years past.
Results and Standings
