Cannes Film Festival May 16 Report: Viggo and Violence

cannesahistoryofviolence.jpgLife in a quiet town is suddenly shattered for Viggo Mortensen's character in, "A History of Violence." Mortensen plays Tom Stall, whose peaceful life in a small Indiana town is destroyed by a robbery at his restaurant. The movie is directed by David Cronenberg, formerly president of a Cannes festival jury in 1999. It stars two Cannes first-timers, Maria Bello and Ashton Holmes, as well as second-timer Ed Harris, and Oscar-winner and Cannes regular William Hurt.
