Cannes Film Festival May 12 Report: Visions of War in Iraq
Thursday May 12, 2005
War in Iraq is certainly a hot topic these days. Director Hiner Saleem's, "Kilometre Zero," delves into the life of a young father and husband who is forced to join Saddam Hussein's army. The film chronicles the Iraq-Iran war, and the man's desperate attempts to return home. Here is an extract of dialogue from the movie:DRIVER: Don't you like Arabs?
AKO: And you, you don't like Kurds?
DRIVER: We could talk about Arab-Kurdish relationships. Let's talk about it. Let's talk about Arab-Kurdish relationships.
AKO: Go ahead
DRIVER: No, you go first.
AKO: You go.
DRIVER: Say something.
AKO: So?
DRIVER: You talk.
AKO: No, you.
DRIVER: You talk.
AKO: No, you.
DRIVER: No
AKO: No
DRIVER: Enough, enough.
