U.S.-France Tensions... Or Reunion???
Wednesday September 24, 2003
Are the U.S. and French government leaders at odds again, or beginning to find common ground? Sify News reports that France Slams U.S. Over Iraq War, and CBS News' site just posed the question: France, a U.S. Friend or Foe?.
On the brighter front, though, the Telegraph (in the U.K.) reports that France and the U.S. Unite to Fight Weapons of Mass Destruction, which says the two countries have agreed to set aside their differences over the Iraqi war. It features a picture of George Bush and Jacques Chiraq sitting together at the U.N. yesterday.
Hopefully, this is a start in moving towards a reconciliation. I sure hate to see the France-bashing start again. Think anti-France sentiment is getting a bit old? Prefer to see the old allies buddies again? Talk about it in the France For Visitors Message Board.
